Privacy Policy — URL Scanner
Last updated: August 3, 2026
URL Scanner (“the App”) is designed with privacy as a core principle for URL scanning. Advertising is provided through Unity Ads.
What we collect
Scanning data: URL Scanner does not collect, transmit, or store scan results on our servers. Offline scans run entirely on your device.
Advertising (Unity Ads): The App uses Unity Ads for banner and interstitial placements. Unity may collect device and advertising identifiers per the Unity Privacy Policy. iOS may show an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on first launch.
On-device data
- Scan history — stored locally only (can be disabled or cleared in Settings)
- App settings — stored in local UserDefaults
- Clipboard URL — read once on launch only if you enable auto-detect
Network activity
- Offline Scan — no network
- Deep Scan — URL sent to reputation services only when you tap Deep Scan
- Safe Browser — loads the URL you choose
- Unity Ads — ad requests when ads load or display
Deep Scan services
When you tap Deep Scan, your URL may be sent to PhishTank, URLHaus, OpenPhish, VirusTotal (if API key configured), AbuseIPDB (if configured), RDAP, and related DNS/SSL checks.
What we do not use
- Third-party analytics SDKs
- AdMob or Google Mobile Ads
- Cloud accounts or sync for scan history
- AI APIs for scanning
Your choices
- Deny ATT tracking — the App remains fully usable
- Disable history or clipboard detection in Settings
- Delete the App to remove on-device sandbox data
